The work of testing the lifts installed in three towers of the Hiyaa flats developed in the second phase of Hulhumale has begun.

Installing additional lifts in the Hiyaa towers is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The budget approved for this year includes MVR 200 million for this purpose.

While the work of installing these lifts began on April 18 last year, the work has been assigned to China's Shenyang Yuan Intellectual Group.

In a post on X today regarding this work, Housing Development Corporation (HDC)'s COO Ahmed Ibrahim said that the testing of additional lifts installed in the towers has begun today.

"With these lifts being installed under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledge, the concerns of those living in Hiyaa will be resolved. These spacious lifts will be a convenient change for about 1000 families living in Hiyaa," he said.

An HDC official told "One" today that they are testing the newly installed lifts in three towers, which are the lifts of Towers 1, 2, and 3.

Speaking at the Parliament's Public Finance Committee last December, HDC's then Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed said that 32 lifts were purchased for installation in 16 towers of Hiyaa at a cost of USD 18 million (MVR 277.6 million).
