President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will improve the issues related to student loan disbursements for Maldivian students studying abroad.
During his current visit to Liverpool, UK, President Muizzu met with Maldivian students studying in Liverpool yesterday. He said that the delays in responding to students' letters and late disbursement of student loans are due to issues within the government system.
"These are issues within the system. God willing, we will improve and make these processes more efficient and bring ease. We will improve the speed of responses and ensure timely disbursement of the funds that need to be received," the President said.
He stated that the government has already done a lot of work to improve financial matters.
During this trip, the President has also officially handed over the building at 9 Rosemont Avenue, London, back to the Maldives Students Association-UK (MSA UK).
This building, which has long been used as a residence and club for Maldivian students studying in the UK, had been taken over for use by the Maldives High Commission in the UK for some time.
Yesterday, the President officially returned the building to MSA UK.
