The opportunity to apply for loans for those seeking higher education and training in the Maldives and abroad has been opened.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Higher Education, 500 opportunities have been opened this time. These are divided into two categories.
The first category is for those starting their studies anew. This includes those who have not registered or paid tuition fees at a higher education institution by the given deadline for loan applications.
The second category includes those currently studying. A current student is considered to be someone who has started their studies at a higher education institution before the loan application deadline.
According to the ministry's announcement, this opportunity is also a top-up loan opportunity for students who couldn't complete their programs within the set duration due to reasons beyond their control under the higher education and training loan scheme, and to assist students in completing internships related to their completed programs.
Under the loan scheme, the maximum amount to be given as a loan is set at 700,000 rufiyaa. The deadline for submitting applications for this loan is 13:30 on April 30th.
