Justice Hussain Shaheed has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to represent Supreme Court. His appointment follows the Supreme Court's decision to designate a judge, other than the Chief Justice, to represent the court on the commission.

Justice Shaheed replaced former Supreme Court judge Husnu Suood, who previously held the position on the JSC. Suood resigned from the commission after being suspended following a disciplinary inquiry. Subsequently, he also tendered his resignation from the Supreme Court.

Following Suood's departure, Justice Shaheed was appointed as a Supreme Court judge, leading to his recent selection as a JSC member.
