The government has released the passports of 20 people linked to the illegal land allotment case. Their passports were seized on December 19 last year, including those of Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, former HDC Managing Director, and his brother Mohammed Fazeel Rasheed, former Deputy MD of MWSC.

The case began when plots were given to people not registered under the Binveriya scheme. Several HDC officials were suspended, and Fazeel was accused of forgery. The Prosecutor General has now ordered a criminal investigation.

Fazeel had applied for land in Hulhumale', but the Housing Ministry had already ruled him ineligible. He later submitted a document claiming ownership, which was sent for verification. Another person, Abdul Majeed Mahir, also applied for construction on disputed land.

A leaked letter suggests neither applicant was eligible under the scheme.
