An investigation has been launched after a dead man was brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) from a guesthouse.

Maldives Police Service said that a report was made at 4:30 a.m. that a 24-year-old local man was taken to IGMH from the guesthouse at Maafannu Victory House due to his poor health. However, the man was dead when he was brought to the hospital.

While the police have said that there are suspicious elements to the case, they did not disclose any details of their suspicions.
