A Maldivian pilgrim who travelled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah this Ramadan has passed away in Makkah.

The deceased has been identified as Moimina Saeedha from GA. Villingili. According to Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, she was part of a pilgrimage group organised by Zamzam Company.

Dr Shaheem expressed his condolences, praying for God's mercy upon the deceased and strength for her family.

Many Maldivians travel to Makkah for Umrah during Ramadan, considering it a spiritually rewarding time to perform the pilgrimage.
