Transport Ministry has announced that vessels must have enough crew members for maintenance when docked at a jetty or removed from service. Failure to comply will result in action being taken under maritime safety regulations.

Under the Regulations for the Safety of Vessels in the Maldives, specific penalties are outlined for violations related to vessel maintenance and operational requirements. The ministry has urged all vessel owners and operators to adhere to these rules to maintain safety standards and avoid legal consequences.
