President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the National Thalassaemia Centre on Sunday to assess the situation and listen to concerns from patients and staff.
During his visit, he met with patients undergoing blood transfusions and assured them that the government would work swiftly to address their issues. He also interacted with the centre’s staff to understand the challenges they face.
Following the visit, President Dr Muizzu directed officials to take immediate action to resolve the problems at the centre. His visit comes amid growing concerns about the facility’s ability to provide essential services.
