Mariyam Visam, the Registrar of Companies, has resigned.

According to information confirmed to "One", Visam resigned from her position as the Company Registrar four days ago.

Visam has told some media outlets that she resigned from the position of Company Registrar because she wants to work in the private sector.

Visam has served in the position of Company Registrar for 11 years. She was appointed to the position during the presidency of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in 2014.

Visam has higher education in the field of business and marketing.
