A search has begun for a Maldivian who has gone missing in Malaysia.

The person being searched for is Ahmed Usaid Ibrahim Afeef. According to a post made by his family on Facebook, Usaid was last heard from around 3:00 PM yesterday.

In a message sent to the media today, the Foreign Ministry said that a report of a Maldivian missing in Malaysia has been received by the Ministry through the Maldives High Commission in that country.

The Ministry said that work is being done to find the missing person in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Malaysia in response to this report.
