MWSC has said that the discount set to be given on water bills will be included in the bills sent in April.
In a press release issued today, MWSC said that as President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to give discounts on household water and electricity bills for this year's Ramadan, the bills sent to domestic customers by the company in April will be discounted so that they are not higher than a normal month.
Rules for giving discounts:
- The amount of a normal month's water and electricity bill will be considered as the average of the nine months of 2024, excluding February, March, and April.
- If the bill prepared in April is higher than the amount determined as a normal month's bill, the discount will be increased by that excess amount.
- If the amount deducted is less than 10 percent of the bill sent in April, the discount will be increased to 10 percent.
- If the bill sent in April is less than a normal month's bill, a 10 percent discount will be given on the April bill.
- For meters newly billed in April and for customers who have been registered before but have not been billed until now, if the first bill sent is in April, such parties will also receive a 10 percent discount on the April bill.
MWSC said that if more information is needed regarding these rules, it can be obtained by calling 105, sending an SMS to 1050, or emailing [email protected].
The President announced that discounts would be given on water and electricity bills for this year's Ramadan as well during a meeting with the people of AA. Mathiveri in December last year.
