Tomorrow has been declared as the first day of Ramadan this year.

At the ceremony held tonight at the Islamic Center to confirm this year's moon sighting, the resolution regarding the moon has been announced.

Announcing the resolution, Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa said that after sunset on February 29, 2025, which is the 29th of Sha'ban 1446 in the Hijri calendar, some Islamic countries have confirmed through Islamic legal methods that they have sighted the moon for Ramadan 1446.

According to the principles followed in the Maldives for confirming the moon for Ramadan and Shawwal, Zakariyya said that tomorrow has been declared as the first day of the fasting month.
