K. Kaashidhoo has written history by defeating HDh. Naivadhoo in the final of the Golden Futsal Challenge 2025 to become the Maldives' futsal champions.

In the final match played at the Rehendhi Ground in Hulhumale', Kaashidhoo won the championship with a strong performance, disappointing Naivadhoo with a 4-1 victory. This was the first time Kaashidhoo played in the tournament's final. Achieving a historic victory, Kaashidhoo has become the seventh island to win the Golden Futsal Challenge trophy.

So far, seven champions have emerged from the nine successful Golden Futsal Challenge tournaments. These include Th. Thimarafushi, which won the trophy three times, B. Hithaadhoo, as well as Male's Maafannu and Henveiru, in addition to L. Gan, B. Eydhafushi, and now K. Kaashidhoo. Kaashidhoo's journey to the futsal throne, newly added to this historic list, was a magical journey with different results.

From the start of the final match, Kaashidhoo showed good play and took the lead in the third minute. It was a goal scored by Ajlaan Abdul Hannaan, who had been playing in good form throughout the tournament. As soon as they took the lead, Naivadhoo started pressing forward, trying to unsettle Kaashidhoo.

Naivadhoo found encouragement in that effort. That was from a goal scored by Ahmed Hameed (Anmadey) in the seventh minute. Although Naivadhoo found hope with that goal, Kaashidhoo didn't slow down. That team ended the half by scoring two more goals. These were from goals scored by Ajlaan and Abdullah Suzair. Suzair's goal was from a free kick.

In the second half, while Kaashidhoo dropped back to defend as a unit and worked hard, their goalkeeper Mohamed Saleel made a different effort to save their goal. With the excellent saves seen from him, Kaashidhoo kept working until the very last moment, and their fourth goal came with two minutes left in the match.

With Naivadhoo pushed all the way forward, including the goalkeeper, a ball defended from the back was sent by Suzair into an empty goal. At that point, the trophy was assured for Kaashidhoo, and the Maldives' futsal throne was confirmed.

The man of the match was the tournament's best player, Kaashidhoo's goalkeeper Saleel.

The closing ceremony of the tournament tonight was graced by the Vice President of the Maldives, Honorable Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
