Minister of Local Government Adam Shareef has stated that the government has decided to issue additional tokens for the distribution of canned fish cases to households for Ramadan.

The distribution of canned fish cases to households by the government began last Thursday. On that day, the queue of people collecting the canned fish cases grew long, and to address this issue, a token number system was introduced yesterday, with a scan code to obtain the number.

Through this system, between 50 and 200 tokens were issued from 13 locations in the Male' area. This includes Male', Hulhumale' Phase 1, Phase 2, and Vilimale'.

In a post on X today, Minister Adam Shareef said that the government's goal is to ensure that all parties receive the Ramadan gift before Ramadan begins, and he assured that they will continue until all households receive it. He stated that all households will receive the Ramadan gift.

The minister said that last night's operation was carried out very smoothly and with very convenient arrangements, and that more tokens will be issued than last night.

Some changes to be implemented when token issuance resumes at 6:00 PM:

- Providing an opportunity for those who have already received tokens, especially those with later dates, to reschedule (expedite) their dates.

- Establishing a system to resolve any issues that may arise during token collection at a single location.

- When token issuance begins today, those who have already received tokens will continue with the same token.
