A young woman has been arrested with 14 kg of narcotics in a police operation conducted in Hulhumalé.

The person arrested in connection with this case is Mariyam Zeena (23 years old) from Aa. Hiyaa, Ha. Thuraakunu. When police presented her to court for a remand hearing, she was remanded for 15 days.

Police said today that Mariyam Zeena was arrested last Wednesday in an operation jointly conducted by Counter Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement.

"During this operation, when an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase 1 was searched under a court warrant, more than 14 kg of suspected narcotics were found," the police said.

The police are continuing to investigate this case.
