State Trading Organization (STO) has released onions, potatoes, and eggs imported for the upcoming Ramadan month to the market.

In a press release today, STO stated that the main purpose of importing these items specifically for Ramadan is to maintain their prices at a reasonable level during the fasting month.

Currently, STO is selling a case of eggs for MVR 320. A sack of potatoes is priced at MVR 310, while a sack of onions is being sold for MVR 310.

In the market today, a case of eggs is available for between MVR 360-400. A sack of onions is also available at the same price. A sack of potatoes is being sold for MVR 360-380.

STO said that customers who want to buy these items wholesale can get them from the STO Wholesale Center and STO Warehouse in the Industrial Village Zone.

These items will be sold retail by STO People's Choice. An egg will be sold for MVR 2, a kilo of onions for MVR 14, and a kilo of potatoes for MVR 18.

STO stated that the prices of these items have been set considering market prices, and therefore, the company's selling prices will change with market price fluctuations. In exceptional cases, prices may be adjusted in specific regions due to local market changes, but generally, these items will be available at the same price across all STO regional areas.
