A new mosque, Masjid al-Zikura, has been built and opened in Maamigili with the support of businessman and MP Qasim Ibrahim.

The mosque was constructed in 57 days after the local council and community requested an expansion of the previous, smaller mosque. The foundation stone was laid on 14th December last year.

According to Ali Solih, the Jumhooree Party’s chief spokesman, the mosque can accommodate 215 people and includes toilets and an ablution area. Qasim Ibrahim decided to rebuild the mosque after inspecting the site and seeing the need for a larger space.
