Rashu Expo 2025 has officially commenced, bringing together representatives from 15 islands to showcase their unique offerings. The event was inaugurated by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed at a special ceremony held at Hulhumale' Central Park.

The expo aims to promote island tourism and highlight investment opportunities across the Maldives. Organisers emphasised the importance of providing a platform for islands to market their services and attract potential investors. A total of nine atolls are participating in the event, with islands such as Fuvahmulah City, Nolhivaranfaru, Omadhoo, Fenfushi, Gan, Maamigili, Naifaru, Hinnavaru, Maabaidhoo, Velidhoo, Utheemu, Maafushi, Dhiffushi, Himmafushi, and others being represented.

Corporate sponsors have also played a significant role in the event. Dhiraagu, as the title sponsor, highlighted its long-standing commitment to decentralised development by establishing operational centres in various islands. The company reaffirmed its goal of improving service delivery across the country. Bank of Maldives (BML) is supporting the expo as a gold partner, while Fuvahmulah City has been designated as the destination island. Additional contributors include Island Aviation and STELCO.

Government officials at the expo underscored the significance of integrated tourism and the necessity of promoting local businesses. The event provides a vital platform for showcasing the efforts of island communities and ensuring they receive proper recognition in the tourism market. The participation of investors further strengthens opportunities for expanding tourism and economic activities across different regions.

Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafiq highlighted the importance of collaboration between island councils, the government, and ministries to enhance the success of such events. The Rashu Expo 2025 is expected to pave the way for future initiatives that will continue to support island tourism and investment opportunities.
