Ooredoo has introduced its first-ever eSIM wearable service in the Maldives, allowing Samsung SmartWatch Ultra users to make calls and send messages without their phones.
The announcement was made at the Maldives Marine Expo, where Ooredoo CEO Khalid Al Hamadi and Samsung Sri Lanka and Maldives Managing Director Sangwa Song unveiled the service. While introduced at the event, it will officially launch next month.
Ooredoo CEO Khalid Al Hamadi said the new Samsung eSIM will help users stay connected, track fitness, and manage daily tasks more easily. Sangwa Song highlighted Samsung’s collaboration with Ooredoo to provide seamless connectivity for smartwatch users.
Ooredoo also announced that customers will soon be able to link their existing numbers to the Samsung SmartWatch Ultra, with more details to come.
With this service, users can make calls, send messages, stream music, and use apps directly from their smartwatch, offering greater convenience.
