The newly developed community centre for senior citizens has been inaugurated in Hulhumalé, aiming to enhance the social and physical well-being of the elderly. The facility, located at Hiyaa Tower 8 in Hulhumalé Phase II, was officially opened today by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Deputy Managing Director Fayaz Mansoor.

According to HDC, the centre has been designed to provide the best possible services for elderly residents. It features essential facilities such as health screening services, a relaxation area, a reading space, a prayer room, a quick treatment room, and a kitchen. Special care services will also be available to support the physical and mental well-being of senior citizens.

The centre is designed to be easily accessible, including for individuals with special needs. It will be open from 0800 to 1800hrs every day except Fridays and Saturdays.

Developed as part of HDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the project has been implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development. HDC expressed confidence that the centre will improve the quality of life for senior citizens in Hulhumalé and promote a healthier lifestyle.
