L. Maabaidhoo Council member Hassan Zareer has passed away unexpectedly. He was 58 years old at the time of his passing.

According to fellow council member Ameena Yoosuf, Zareer fell ill after returning from Asr prayers. He reportedly collapsed while sitting on a joali and was rushed to the health centre where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Zareer had been serving as a council member for three years and eight months, playing a key role in the development of the community. His sudden passing has deeply saddened the people of Maabaidhoo.

Authorities and community members have expressed their condolences to his family, recognising his dedication and contributions to the council.
