Hussain Shareef, the Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Sports, has been suspended following allegations of involvement in multiple cases.
Civil Service Commission (CSC) President Mohamed Nasih confirmed to One that Shareef was suspended as of yesterday to facilitate an investigation into the complaints received by the commission. However, he did not disclose specific details regarding the allegations.
Nasih stated that the suspension was linked to internal issues within the Sports Ministry. In the interim, the responsibilities of the Permanent Secretary have been assigned to Ali Zaki, the ministry’s Director General.
Hussain Shareef has served as the PS of the Sports Ministry since his appointment in May 2018. The investigation into the allegations against him is ongoing.
