A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Malé City with over one kilogram of drugs and a significant amount of cash.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the arrest was made on 30th January during a drug operation carried out by counter-narcotics intelligence and drug enforcement. The suspect has been identified as Hassan Nazeeh.

As part of the operation, police raided two houses linked to the suspect, recovering drugs and a large sum of cash. The seized substances are suspected to be narcotics, with a provisional weight of more than 1 kg.

Nazeeh was presented before a local court and has been remanded in police custody for 10 days while the investigation continues.
