The government has invited bids to build over 12,000 housing units across 57 islands as part of the Public Housing Project.
In a gazette announcement, the Ministry of Finance and Planning stated that the project, initiated by the Ministry of Housing, will be carried out on a design-and-build basis. The contracts will follow International Competitive Bidding (ICB), National Competitive Bidding (NCB), and Public Finance Rules.
Bidders can submit proposals under various financial models, with pre-qualification notices to be issued next month. Interested parties can join the bidding process by emailing [email protected].
During his atoll visit, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu confirmed that tenders for all promised housing projects will be issued by the end of this month. He emphasised that housing is the government's top priority, with this year’s and next year’s budgets focused on delivering these commitments.
