National Identity Card service has been launched in HA. Dhihdhoo. The service was launched during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Haa Alif Atoll.

Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, officially inaugurated the service at a ceremony.

This initiative is part of the Government’s broader effort to decentralise services. The expansion of ID card and passport services began on 16 November 2024 and has already been introduced in various locations, including Malé City, Hulhumalé, Villimalé, Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo, and Laamu Fonadhoo.

The Government’s roadmap aims to establish ID card and passport service centres in every city and atoll by the end of the year.
