President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang on the Spring Festival and Chinese New Year.

In separate letters, he conveyed best wishes from the Maldivian government and people, reaffirmed support for the One-China Principle, and stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties. He also highlighted the China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Dr Muizzu wished the Chinese leaders good health and prosperity for their people. He also shared a message on his official 'X' account to mark the occasion. The Maldives and China established diplomatic relations on 14th October 1972.
