A Bangladeshi national has been stabbed in K. Gaafaru.

Police told the media that the incident was reported at 0705hrs this morning.

Authorities added that the man was stabbed in the back with a knife while he was walking. The motive behind the attack is unclear.

Police have taken Jazim Jaufar from the island into custody regarding the incident.
