President Dr Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the significant development potential of Filladhoo Island, noting its size and ability to support a large population. He made these remarks during a community meeting at the island's Fitness and Recreation Centre on Tuesday.

The President stated that Filladhoo could serve as a hub for regional development, including the expansion of the international airport and diversification of the tourism sector. He also prioritised road construction, followed by improvements in health, education, and fitness services.

He briefed the public on development projects underway in Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atolls. Earlier, he attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Council Secretariat and launched the "Magey Solar" programme after the meeting.
