Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has received an official invitation to visit the Kingdom of Morocco during the holy month of Ramadan to deliver an Islamic lecture as part of the Hassani Lessons Program.
The Islamic Ministry said that Morocco's non-resident Ambassador Mohamed Maliki met with Minister Shaheem today and handed over the invitation from the Moroccan government to deliver an Islamic lecture in Morocco during Ramadan.
These lessons are among the most prominent religious and cultural traditions in Morocco, held under His Majesty the King Mohammed VI. Scholars and thinkers from across the Islamic world participate in these sessions, discussing religious and intellectual topics to promote the values of tolerance and moderation.
The Ministry said that Minister Shaheem thanked the Moroccan Ambassador for the meeting and that they discussed potential religious collaborations between the Maldives and Morocco.
Additionally, Shaheem informed the Moroccan Ambassador about the ongoing efforts to train imams in the Maldives and discussed various opportunities available in Morocco for imam training, according to the Ministry.
