Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that India is committed to deepen the friendship and cooperation between India and the Maldives.
Prime Minister Modi said this in response to a post made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on X to convey Republic Day greetings to India.
"Thank you President Muizzu for your wishes on India’s Republic Day. I fully share your sentiment regarding the long standing partnership between India and Maldives. We are committed to deepen these bonds of friendship and cooperation.," Prime Minister Modi said in his post on X.
In his congratulatory post to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, President Muizzu highlighted that Maldives will always cherish the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation we share with India, which is built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding that have withstood the test of time.
"I am committed to strengthening our strategic partnership to address common challenges and work for the mutual benefit of people of both our neighborly nations," he further added.
India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day today.
