President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended Republic Day greetings to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the Maldivian Government and people.
In his messages, he expressed warm wishes and highlighted the strong, long-standing partnership between the Maldives and India, built on trust, respect, and understanding. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening these ties and wished the Indian people peace, progress, and prosperity.
President Dr Muizzu shared similar sentiments on his official ‘X’ account, joining in the celebration of India’s Republic Day, which marks the adoption of its Constitution on 26 January 1950.
The Maldives and India have maintained close diplomatic relations since establishing ties on 26 July 1965.
