The MNDF Coast Guard has been mobilized after the engine fails on a cargo vessel traveling with 11 people on board.

MNDF said that the Coast Guard is assisting the 80-foot vessel “Azum” traveling from Male’ City to Maamunagau Resort in Raa Atoll after it’s engine failed 2 nautical miles west of Akirifushi in Male’ Atoll.

The incident was reported to the Coast Guard Coordination Center this morning at 8:43 a.m. and had ten foreigners and one local on board.
