The ruling People's National Congress (PNC) has become the political party with the most members among all political parties.

The Elections Commission (EC) has published statistics on the number of members in political parties as of December 31 last year. According to these statistics, PNC currently has 68,968 members.

The main opposition party, MDP, has the second-highest number of members with 43,755 members, according to the information released by the EC. The Jumhooree Party is the third largest party with 13,826 members. PPM is in fourth place with 12,174 members.

MDA has 9,210 members, making it the fifth largest party. Adhaalath Party is in sixth place with 9,049 members. MNP is the seventh largest party with 6,050 members.

The Democrats are eighth on this list with 3,667 members. MTD is ninth with 2,359 members, while PNF is in tenth place with 2,822 members.

While PNC has become the largest political party in the Maldives, an issue has surfaced regarding allegations of submitting invalid forms to increase the party's membership. PNC has also admitted that invalid forms were submitted during their membership drive.

The police and EC are currently investigating the issue of invalid forms.
