The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced plans to host a special session aimed at supporting and promoting small businesses in Naifaru.
The session, targeting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and local "Kumeli" businesses, is designed to explore innovative ideas and address challenges faced by entrepreneurs. It will take place at Naifaru School Hall from 2100 to 2330 hrs.
Operating under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the BCC has been instrumental in fostering the growth of small and medium enterprises nationwide. Through its Authentic Maldives initiative, the corporation has enabled local manufacturers to market their products more effectively.
Since its inception, Authentic Maldives has achieved remarkable success, paying over MVR 63 million to 300 suppliers as of February 2023. Notably, payments to suppliers increased significantly each year: MVR 4.3 million in 2020, MVR 14.5 million in 2021, and MVR 19.06 million in 2022.
