More than 800 patients have been transported by air ambulance.

The Health Ministry said today that since the inauguration of the air ambulance service on March 1 last year, the air ambulance has made 700 trips and assisted 804 patients in medical emergencies.

The Dash aircraft used as an air ambulance is equipped with safety features and medical equipment necessary for urgent medical care.

When the air ambulance service was launched as a collaboration between the Health Ministry, NSPA, and Island Aviation, the government had trained a team of 15 healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.
