Bank of Maldives (BML) and the Raa Atoll Vaadhoo Island Council have signed an agreement to establish an ATM on the island. This initiative supports the government’s goal of ensuring ATM services on all Maldivian islands by the end of the year.

The agreement was signed during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Vaadhoo as part of his tour of R. Atoll. Badhurudheen Hassan, BML’s Director of Retail and SME Banking, and Council President Hussain Ali represented the two parties.

BML launched its nationwide ATM initiative in November 2024 and currently operates 150 ATMs on 90 islands. Plans are in place to expand services to 17 more islands by March.
