President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that police stations or posts will be set up on every island in the Maldives by the end of this year.

Speaking during a visit to R. Vadhoo, the President highlighted this initiative as a key part of his presidential commitments.

The scale and design of the police presence will be tailored to suit the needs, population, and economic conditions of each island. While temporary facilities may be used initially, the government is working on a long-term plan to construct dedicated police buildings by 2025.

The President assured the residents of Vadhoo that their island is included in this initiative. This effort reflects the government’s aim to enhance law enforcement and public safety across all islands of the Maldives.
