The new High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, G. Balasubramaniam, has paid a courtesy call to Foreign Minister, Dr Abdulla Khaleel. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between their countries and explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Minister Dr Khaleel congratulated Balasubramaniam on presenting his credentials to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and thanked India for its ongoing support of the Maldives’ development. He highlighted the strong friendship and shared commitment between the two nations.

High Commissioner Balasubramaniam expressed India’s interest in deepening ties with the Maldives and working closely with the government to enhance cooperation in various areas.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including Foreign Secretary Fathmath Inaya, Ambassador at Large Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, and Deputy High Commissioner Kumar Gaurav.
