Former High Court Judge Shuaib Hussain Zakariyya has passed away.

According to available information, Shuaib passed away this evening. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer.

After working as a legal practitioner, Judge Shuaib first assumed the position of a judge on June 1, 1999.

Judge Shuaib was appointed to the position of High Court Judge on March 26, 2022. He served at the High Court for 11 years.

While serving as a High Court Judge, Shuaib Hassan Zakariyya retired from the position at his own request. He retired on November 22, 2022.

At the time of his retirement, he had spent more than 20 years in the judiciary.

Shuaib obtained his first degree in Law and Sharia from Qatar University in 1997. He also completed a Master of Comparative Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2006.

In addition to being a High Court Judge, Shuaib had also served as a Legal Officer at the Justice Ministry and as a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Faculty of Sharia and Law.

Furthermore, he had served as a Special Magistrate, a Judge at the Family Court, and as the Chief Judge of both the Civil Court and the Juvenile Court.
