Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has launched new tuna cans designed for small households or one-time use.

Prior to this, MIFCO sold 180g cans available as chunks in oil and chunks in brine. The cans were priced at MVR 17.5.

The new product, with 140g are available in oil and brine as well, priced at MVR 15 per can.

MIFCO stated that the new size will hopefully eliminate the need to refrigerate tuna cans after being opened.
