Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has stated that as soon as the Attorney General (AG) advises on the Nasandhura case, they will take the necessary action.

The land was given to NPH Investments, in which Ellaidhoo Mohamed Manik the brother-in-law of former President, Abdulla Yameen is a stakeholder. NPH Investments is to develop a 25-storey residential complex in the land. The transaction of said land is to be in violation of Tourism laws, and is said to have zero involvement of the Ministry during the leasing process.

Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, the Minister added that the policy team of the Ministry had noted that the project could not continue further. Hence they had requested for a suggestion from the Attorney General.

Auditor General had previously advised the ministry to revise the project decision while ACC had also probed the case previously.
