The Chief Magistrate of V. Fulidhoo Magistrate Court, Sheereen Naahidha Latheef, has been suspended in connection with a case of violating professional ethical standards.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) stated on October 27, 2024, that a professional conduct case related to the work environment involving Sheereen had been proven after investigation. As a result, the JSC decided to take disciplinary action against her in a meeting held on August 28, 2024.
The JSC said that Sheereen's action was in violation of the Judges Act and the Judges' Code of Conduct. Therefore, under the JSC Act, it was decided to order her to complete relevant training.
Today, the JSC announced that as the case investigated against Sheereen has been proven, she has been suspended for 15 days starting today, without salary and benefits.
