Parliament has passed to appoint Mohamed Abdulla and Aminath Saraahath Izzath as Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) members.
The President had submitted a list of 12 candidates to Parliament in order of priority.
After conducting interviews, the Committee on Independent Institutions presented its report at today's session, where the names of three candidates were voted on. Two of the three were approved, and the remaining names were not brought to a vote.
Saharat was approved with 68 votes, while Mohamed Abdulla received 58 votes.
