Following changes to the cabinet of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, several new appointments have been announced.

As such, the names of Moosa Zameer as Finance Minister, Dr Ali Haidhar Ahmed as Minister of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development, Mariyam Mariya as Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, and Dr Abdulla Muththalib as Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure have been forwarded to the Parliament for approval.

The change, the second in President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's cabinet, was made on 26 December.

President Dr Muizzu sent a letter to Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla, seeking parliamentary approval for the decision.

The Speaker had then announced that the matter has been referred to the Parliamentary Committee on the Performance of the Government's Responsibilities for further review.
