The Maldives and Estonia have signed key agreements to boost cooperation in several areas. These agreements were finalised during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Estonia, made at the invitation of Estonian President Dr. Alar Karis. The Maldivian delegation included government officials and experts from various fields.

The first agreement, signed by Foreign Minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel, focuses on improving diplomatic relations and gaining political advice from Estonia.

The second agreement, signed by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihsan, aims to work with Estonia on information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. This will help the Maldives benefit from Estonia’s expertise in digital innovation and security.

Maldives and Estonia also signed an MoU to enhance knowledge exchange, cooperation, and support in the areas of climate change, environment, and energy.

These agreements represent a major step forward in building a strong partnership between the two countries, focusing on progress and development.
