Ilyas Haneef has resigned as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), citing personal reasons and a desire to pursue a different field.
Ilyas, who served three years at MIFCO and briefly acted as CEO, stated that it was the right time to move on. His resignation comes after a previous corporate governance issue involving former CEO Ahmed Samah Rasheed, who was later reassigned to the fisheries ministry.
General Manager Hamid Nazim is currently managing MIFCO until newly appointed CEO Dr Vitaly Lubimov assumes his role.
