The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has reported today that Malé received the highest amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
According to the Met Office, from 8:00 AM yesterday to 8:00 AM today, Malé received 130.7 millimeters of rain. The second highest rainfall was recorded in Hulhulé, with 79.5 millimeters. The third highest was in AA. Thoddoo, which received 70.3 millimeters of rain.
Due to continuous rain in Malé since last night, the streets of Malé were severely flooded. The Met Office has issued a Yellow Alert for a large area of the Maldives today as well, predicting heavy rain and flooding.
The alert has been issued from Shaviyani Atoll to Thaa Atoll until 1:00 PM today.
