Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu this evening at the President's Office.
President Dr Muizzu warmly welcomed Minister Wang and thanked China for its continued support for the Maldives' development. He highlighted his state visit to China last year, which strengthened cooperation between the two countries.
The President stressed the need to fast-track key projects, especially in social housing and road development, and sought China’s help in diversifying the economy, focusing on agriculture and fisheries.
Minister Wang praised President Dr Muizzu’s development plans and reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting the Maldives. He described the President as a trusted partner and highlighted the strong bond between the two nations as a model for international cooperation.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the China-Maldives partnership and working together for mutual progress.
