The Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) has decided not to recognize courses and qualifications from 101 higher education and training centers that have not re-registered under the Higher Education and Training Act.
In an announcement made today, MQA stated that under the "Higher Education and Training Act", higher education and training centers can only operate after registering with the Ministry of Higher Education.
"Therefore, we inform that from today, under Article 21 (e) of the 'Higher Education and Training Act', this Authority will not recognize the programs that were previously authorized and conducted by 101 centers listed as not registered in the registry (Register of Colleges and Institutes) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship," MQA said.
MQA has published the list of 101 institutions whose qualifications they have decided not to recognize.
